I was the founder and creative director at The Silk Line, a brand specializing in contemporary and traditional Kanjivarams. As a creative director, I revolutionized the design of one of the oldest forms of handweaving in India: the Kanjivaram style from a small town in South India called Kanchipuram. By integrating different art forms with this weaving style, we created a line of saris featuring designs ranging from doodle elephants, flamingos, and cycles of the moon to octopuses, fish, and some of the oldest and most forgotten patterns from mythology, such as the Navaginjara. In addition to saris, I also designed a line of Veshtis with contemporary designs.
